How to measure your Quran for the right cover fit.
Our current crochet Quran covers are designed for a closed Quran measuring approximately 8 × 5.5 × 1 inches — 20.32 × 13.97 × 2.54 cm. Measure your Quran before ordering so you can compare its dimensions with the cover size.
Three measurements
Measure the closed book, not another cover.
Use a ruler or tape measure and keep the Quran closed while taking all three measurements.
Width
5.5 in / 13.97 cmMeasure from the spine to the outside edge of the front cover while the book is closed.
Thickness
1 in / 2.54 cmMeasure the depth of the closed Quran across the covers and pages at the spine area.
Why thickness matters
A similar height and width can still fit differently.
Two Qurans can look almost identical from the front but have different page counts, cover boards or binding thickness. That is why the depth measurement is just as useful as height and width.
Crochet has some natural flexibility, but each cover is made around a particular book size. A Quran that is noticeably taller, wider or thicker may not sit correctly inside the front and back sleeves.

Arabic / right-to-left orientation
Our covers are designed the right way around.
The current collection is made for Arabic / right-to-left books. The Quran opens from the left and the spine sits on the right, so the front and back sleeves are positioned accordingly.
When you measure, keep the Quran in its normal closed orientation. You do not need to add extra allowance around the book.

Before you choose a cover.
Does the Quran need to be exactly 8 × 5.5 × 1 inches?
The covers are designed around approximately these dimensions. Small differences may be workable, but the closer your Quran is to the stated size, the more predictable the fit will be.
What if my Quran is thicker?
A thicker book can place more tension on the crochet and sleeves. Send us the exact height, width and depth before ordering and we can advise you.
Should I measure an existing fabric or leather cover?
No. Measure the Quran itself while closed. Another cover may include extra material, padding or seam allowance that changes the measurement.
Can I ask before ordering?
Yes. Use the Contact page and send the three measurements. Pickup is also available from Al Nahda, Sharjah, if that is more convenient after your order is confirmed.
